Sound Walk Workshop with Helo Moondi
A collaboration with Leaf Audio
This workshop provides a welcoming and inclusive space for participants to explore the art of field recording in the special environment of FEZ-Berlin. Combining discussion and hands-on practice, we’ll dive in the history of sound hunting, his role in acoustic ecology, and the impact of field recording on electronic music.
A guided soundwalk will bring participants through the forest, the FEZ-Brunnen metal sculpture, and the convention space. Along the way, we’ll practice listening techniques inspired by Pauline Oliveros. Participants will experiment with a variety of recording tools, including professional recording devices, microphones, contact mics and Geophone partly provided by Leaf Audio company.
Whether you’re new to field recording or seeking to expand your creative approach, this workshop offers an engaging introduction to the creative possibilities of sound design and recording. This atelier will be held in English by the musician and artist Hélo Moondi.
After the workshop, each participant will receive all recordings made during the soundwalk, along with an additional sample pack containing studio-treated and denoised versions of these recordings. Selected soundscape recordings will also be shared on the Aporee platform (https://aporee.org/).
